AI-driven safety compliance for an industrial facility

Client profile

A leading international manufacturer of power equipment operates multiple production facilities across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. The company specializes in high-capacity transformer production and manages complex processes that require strict adherence to industrial safety compliance and controlled access to production environments.

With a strong focus on workplace safety monitoring and compliance, the client continuously invests in technologies that improve workforce discipline, reduce risks, and ensure secure production workflows.

Project background

The client’s facility in the UAE required an advanced industrial surveillance system and analytics solution to enhance staff control and safety compliance across production and warehouse areas.

Prior to implementation, monitoring of staff behavior and adherence to internal safety rules relied heavily on manual supervision. This made it difficult to ensure consistent safety compliance monitoring, particularly in high-risk zones where protective equipment and uniforms are mandatory. Occasional violations of safety
protocols created potential risks for both personnel and production processes.

The key objective was to implement an intelligent system capable of authorized personnel detection, verifying compliance with security requirements, and providing real-time safety alerts in case of violations or incidents.

Solution

TRASSIR deployed a comprehensive AI-driven video surveillance solution designed to combine industrial access control, workplace compliance analytics, and safety incident detection within a unified platform.

The system incorporates TRASSIR VMS with EnterpriseIP (Debian) along with advanced analytics modules, including:

- Face Recognition for authorized personnel detection

- Wear Detector and Hard Hat Detector for monitoring worker uniform compliance and safety requirements
- Neuro Fire and Smoke Detector for early detection of potential fire hazards

The solution enables automatic verification of whether individuals entering production and warehouse areas are authorized and properly equipped according to internal safety standards, enhancing restricted area access control.

A pilot phase lasting four months was conducted prior to full deployment, allowing the system to be fine-tuned to the facility’s operational specifics. The project was implemented in collaboration with a regional system integrator, ensuring smooth deployment despite challenges such as night-shift operations and system configuration requirements.

Results and impact

Following implementation, the facility gained a significantly higher level of control, visibility, and accountability across its operations.

The system now continuously monitors compliance with safety regulations, reducing reliance on manual supervision and minimizing the risk of human error. Automated alerts allow teams to respond immediately to violations, while detailed reports provide valuable insights for incident analysis and improving overall manufacturing plant security.

Beyond real-time monitoring, the ability to review historical data helps the client investigate incidents, identify patterns, and improve overall operational discipline.

Key benefits include:

- Automated verification of staff access to restricted areas

- Continuous monitoring of safety compliance (worker uniform compliance and protective equipment)
- Early detection of fire and smoke risks
- Reduced dependency on manual supervision
- Detailed reporting and workplace compliance analytics for incident investigation

As a result, the client achieved a more structured and proactive approach to safety management, strengthening both workforce protection and operational reliability.
