Centralized surveillance for large-scale food production

Client profile

A large-scale ice cream manufacturing facility located in
Karnataka, India, operates on an industrial scale, producing over 150 product varieties with a daily capacity of approximately 300,000 litres.

Spread across a
400,000 sq. ft. campus, the facility handles continuous movement of personnel, logistics vehicles, and production processes. Ensuring manufacturing facility security and full operational visibility is critical in such an environment.

Project background

Due to increasing security requirements and the scale of operations, the facility needed a reliable and centralized surveillance system capable of monitoring all key areas in real time.

Prior to implementation, the site lacked a unified monitoring approach, making it difficult to oversee activities across the campus. The absence of a video management system and centralized control limited situational awareness and slowed response times in case of incidents.

The primary objective was to deploy a solution that would enable continuous monitoring, centralized visibility, and scalable infrastructure. The system needed to ensure full coverage across entry points, production zones, and parking areas while supporting multi-site surveillance and future expansion.

Solution

TRASSIR implemented a comprehensive IP video surveillance system designed to provide centralized monitoring and high-quality video coverage across the entire facility.

The solution includes
TRASSIR VMS (video management system), a NeuroStation server, and IP cameras, all integrated into a single platform for efficient management and control. The system enables a centralized monitoring setup, allowing security personnel to view and manage all camera feeds in real time from a single location.

The platform ensures continuous 24/7 video monitoring with high-resolution streams, along with recording and playback capabilities for incident investigation. In addition, trial implementations of perimeter intrusion detection and workplace safety analytics (such as hard hat detection) were introduced, demonstrating the system’s ability to enhance both security and workplace safety in critical zones.

The deployment was carried out in multiple stages, including site survey, network configuration, camera installation, system setup, testing, and client training, ensuring a smooth rollout without disrupting ongoing manufacturing operations.

Results and impact

Following implementation, the facility achieved significant improvements in visibility and centralized monitoring capabilities, enabling security teams to oversee the entire campus more effectively.

The system provides a unified platform for centralized video surveillance, improving response times and ensuring that all critical areas are continuously monitored. The ability to review recorded footage further strengthens incident investigation and operational oversight.

Key benefits include:

- Centralized monitoring of all camera feeds through an advanced video management system

- Improved visibility across a large industrial campus
- Enhanced security in production and access areas with workplace safety analytics
- Scalable infrastructure for future expansion
- Support for advanced analytics and safety applications

The successful deployment has strengthened overall site security, and the client is now planning to expand the system with additional cameras and advanced TRASSIR features in the next phase.
